A new traffic signal installation is set to change the flow on Eldorado Parkway at Research Road. Yesterday, city officials activated this fresh addition to the streetscape, initially setting it into a blinking warning state ahead of full operation scheduled for tomorrow. According to the City of Frisco, the light's current flashing mode means drivers traveling along Eldorado Parkway will catch a blinking yellow signal – a signal to proceed with caution, without the need to come to a full stop.
Traffic on Research Road, however, will be greeted by a flashing red light, urging drivers to make a complete stop. The current stop signs are to soon disappear as the light transitions to its fully functional state. The city's move is to undoubtedly ease into this change, to allow drivers to become accustomed slowly – a dance of metal and asphalt timed to the rhythm of red, yellow, and green.
Thursday promises to bring a new rhythm to the streets as the signal switches from its intermediate mode to take directing traffic in full stride. It's all part of the city's choreography to improve traffic flow and safety. Residents and commuters are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled and reflexes ready for the light's full performance, which is set to debut just the following day.
