
Germantown's Education Commission recently hosted its annual event recognizing achievements in local education. Three individuals were honored for their contributions.
According to the City of Germantown's official website, Katie Jaffe of Dogwood Elementary School received the New Teacher of the Year award, sponsored by the Leadership Germantown Alumni Association. In her first year, she has been recognized for her creative teaching methods and active participation in her school community.
Anna Catherine Brickey, a senior at Hutchison School, was awarded the Youth Excellence Scholarship. She has been involved in community service, athletics, and academic research, and plans to study women’s healthcare at the University of Georgia.
Joseph Murray of Houston High School received the Teacher of the Year award. Known for his engaging teaching style, he also leads student clubs, mentors colleagues, and supports professional development, including work on AI in education.
The city and Education Commission congratulated the recipients and acknowledged their contributions to Germantown's education system.
