
Last Monday evening, a Chevrolet Tahoe went off Highway 138E in Douglas County, Oregon, and hit a tree. The driver, 65-year-old Craig Francis Hindle of Merlin, had minor injuries. The passenger, 43-year-old Scoti Allena Hoadley of Grants Pass, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Oregon State Police.
According to the Oregon State Police, a vehicle was traveling west near milepost 28.5 around 6:38 p.m. when it crossed the road and stopped on the opposite shoulder. The crash did not affect highway traffic. Medical help arrived and took the driver, Hindle, for treatment. His condition has not been shared.
Oregon State Police and ODOT are investigating the cause. The community is urging drivers to follow safety measures. Additional information will be provided through official Oregon State Police briefings.
