In the early hours of the morning, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit was called to the scene of a vehicular clash on the 900 block of N. Piedras. A 2017 Taotao scooter and a dark Chevrolet Sedan collided, leaving the scooter’s driver seriously injured, according to the El Paso Police Department.
The details of the mishap, as disclosed, paint a picture of the Taotao traveling southward, preparing to make a turn onto Tularosa, only to be met by the northbound Chevrolet. This encounter was not one of mere glances but rather the violent kind, one vehicle barreling into another. Consequence of this, the rider of the Taotao was thrown from their steed and had to be rushed to the hospital for the serious injuries sustained.
Compounding the tragedy, the driver of the Chevrolet sedan chose evasion over responsibility, fleeing the scene before authorities arrived.
