Heads up, Holt County drivers: major roadwork is coming your way with the Mill Creek Bridge on Route T set for a deck replacement starting May 5. As reported by MoDOT, this project, initially slated for April 7, hit a snag due to some shuffling in the contractor's schedule.

This inconvenience means Route T will be shut down at the bridge, and if you're planning to travel that way, you're going to need to plot a detour. The word on the street is that the bridge should be back in business by mid-July, so that's some consolation, however, keep in mind the U.S. Route 59 Bridge over Interstate 29 in Holt County and Atchison County's Rock Creek Bridge on Route F are next on the docket.

Contractor Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. has been tapped for the job by the Missouri Department of Transportation, they're in charge of sprucing up a couple of bridges in Holt and one in Atchison, and they aim to wrap up by September 2025 - weather and other gods of chance permitting.

For those of you driving near these work zones, MoDOT has a friendly reminder, always buckle up, keep your phones down, slowing down and moving over in work zones.
