The Illinois State Fairgrounds is set to transform itself into a precursor of summer delights with its "100 Days Out" Celebration in anticipation of the annual State Fair. According to an announcement on the state's official website, the event, which heralds the countdown to the fair, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Reisch Pavilion. Festivities will include a tasting spree as fair favorites like Taft's Mr. Ribeye, Food Baby, and Vose's Korndogs are set to sell their edible wares to the public.
Adopting more of a fairground teaser, this event will also feature a raffle opportunity designed to quickly get fans caught in the spirit of anticipation. "Have lunch with us and get the chance to win the ultimate Illinois State Fair prize package—two track tickets to every Grandstand concert at the 2025 Illinois State Fair," Jerry Costello II, Director of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, highlighted in a statement. For each food item purchased at the "100 Days Out" event, attendees will earn a raffle ticket to enter, and they do not need to be present to clinch the win.
The excitement does not end with delicious food and raffle draws. For those looking to maximize their fair experience, discounted mega passes, jumbo passes, admission booklets, and parking passes will be available for purchase during the event. As an added convenience, the promotion offers a seamless way for enthusiasts to pre-purchase these items, making their fairground visitation both streamlined and stress-free.
Looking to build on a previous year of success, fair officials are bullish on the potential of this year's gathering. "This 100 Days Out Celebration is an opportunity to look ahead in anticipation for the 2025 Illinois State Fair, which promises to be the biggest and best yet," Costello mentioned. Echoing this sentiment, Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark shared, "It's a great way to sample some of the Fair's most beloved foods, stock up on money-saving passes to the fair, and get the community energized for what's to come in August." The event is open to all, with free admission and complimentary parking on the grounds.
