
The West Palm Beach Police Department has launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body in a West Palm Beach canal over the weekend. According to the police statement, the man was pulled from the canal, located along 45th Street between Congress Avenue and Australian Avenue, after authorities received a report of someone in the water last Saturday afternoon, as reported by CBS12.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. where they found, and upon arrival, they quickly retrieved the unidentified man from the canal. Later, at a nearby hospital, the medical staff pronounced him dead, the circumstances leading to his presence in the canal have yet to be disclosed by the authorities; meanwhile, WPBPD did not immediately offer details regarding the man's identity or how he may have ended up in the canal, insisting that his death remains under investigation.
Simultaneously, WPBF reported a body discovered in the same area, providing a closer address description of the 1700 block of 45th Street where the man was located. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man unconscious, quickly initiating attempts to rescue him, but were unable to revive him as he was transported to an area hospital, where his death was confirmed.
The West Palm Beach Police have not released further information at this time. The investigation continues.
