
A family and community in Jefferson County, Tennessee, are coming to terms with a near-tragedy after a 17-year-old girl was found submerged in water at a residence in New Market. According to a Facebook post by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, emergency services, including the Jefferson County EMS and New Market Fire & Rescue, responded to the scene Monday evening to find the girl's family attempting CPR.
The incident happened around 6:00 p.m. on Monday. A young woman, whose name hasn't been shared, was given medical help right away and taken to ETCH in Knoxville. She's in critical condition but still alive, as reported by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
