San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has conveyed that Keith Davila, 27, charged with nine counts in totoal, has been found guilty of breaching a criminal protective order. According to a press release from the District Attorney's Office, a jury recently convicted Davila for disregarding a court mandate that prohibited him from coming within 150 yards of a protected party and their residence.
The judicial system had initially issued the protective order back in December 2023, which Davila chose to violate in February of 2024, prompting an investigation and his consequent arrest by the San Francisco Police Department. In an act of repeated disregard, Davila managed to defy the same order in July of 2024, this time in San Mateo County. His unwarranted contact with the protected party stood in flagrant violation of clearly stated legal prohibitions.
However, it should be noted that the jury found Davila not guilty on eight other counts in this case and convicted him on only a single charge related to violation of the restraining order, according to the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, which represented him in the case.
The successful prosecution led by Assistant District Attorney Gwendolyn West materialized with the help of a team comprising District Attorney Investigators, paralegals, and IT support staff, as outlined by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. "Our community has stood by both the victim and the San Francisco courts in this case by holding the Mr. Davila responsible for violating the court’s order," West said, expressing gratitude to the jury for their "diligent work."
