Attention, Keller residents: your medicine cabinets might need a spring cleaning. Mark your calendars for National Drug Take Back Day, coming up later this month, when you'll have the chance to safely dispose of those old prescription pads and over-the-counter pills that have been gathering dust.
Keller Public Safety has announced that Keller PD will be hosting a free collection event, a boon to public safety and environmental preservation. According to their social media post, "Unused and expired medications are a public safety risk; disposing of them properly saves lives and protects the environment!"
Here's your chance to declutter and do some good: drop off your unused medications at a drive-thru service on Saturday, April 26, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; you'll find the setup at 330 Rufe Snow Dr., right in the station parking lot. But, take note before you toss everything in a bag and head out: there are some exceptions—specifically, Keller Public Safety pointed out that "we cannot accept intravenous medicines, injectables, liquids or needles as part of this event," a restriction worth remembering as you prep your pharmaceuticals for disposal.
