Kirkland's Houghton Park & Play is gearing up to host its first-ever "Junk in the Trunk" Community Sale this Saturday, May 3, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Locals will be able to empty their trunks and sell pre-loved items right from their vehicles in the heart of the Bridle Trails neighborhood.
As we understand from Kirkland's official announcement, vendors will be parked at 6920 NE 70th Place, providing shoppers the convenience of exploring a variety of gently used goods and vintage items from next to their vehicles and trunks. Councilmember Jon Pascal emphasizes the event's intent: "By reusing and repurposing items instead of throwing them away, we’re making a positive impact on our environment and having a great time doing it." Food trucks, for those browsing, they will also be on-site offering local bites.
It is not just your average garage sale; the "Junk in the Trunk" sale aims to create a space for Kirkland residents to connect and consider the feats of sustainability together. According to Councilmember Pascal, who told Kirkland's news release, "Junk in the Trunk is about more than just great bargains, it’s about bringing people together and encouraging mindful, community-centered choices."
