Knoxville Police have taken a man into custody linked to a February overdose death investigation, WVLT reported Thursday. Allen Roach, 30, was arrested after officers searched his Cedarwood Street home, where they found illicit substances and a firearm. The Knoxville Police Department, which includes the Organized Crime Unit and Drug Related Death Task Force detectives, conducted the operation as part of a probe into the untimely demise of a 23-year-old woman in February.
During the search of Roach's residence on Tuesday, authorities discovered approximately eight grams of cocaine, nearly 12 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, digital scales, and a loaded handgun, WBIR indicated. The police department has not publicized any direct connection between these drugs and the overdose death of the woman. However, WATE shared that court documents revealed the warrant was secured on probable cause with allegations that Roach was involved in manufacturing, selling, and delivering cocaine from his home.
Roach now faces charges that include Schedule I and II drug violations, maintaining a dwelling for drug use, and possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony. The search was an effort by the Knoxville Police Department to unravel the circumstances leading to the February incident, which remains under investigation. Roach allegedly described his residence as "a party house," where individuals would gather to indulge, as reported in a general sessions docket.
