
The Knoxville Police Department is searching for 32-year-old Willie Tolbert in connection with a shooting incident yesterday. Tolbert is wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and additional weapon-related charges.
As per the Knoxville Police Department Facebook page, at around 6:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in an alley behind a residence on the 2300 block of Brooks Avenue. Tolbert allegedly fired multiple rounds at two men, though neither was injured. He then fled the scene in a black Mercedes with Washington state license plates.
The police are asking anyone with information about Tolbert’s whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165, with the possibility of a cash reward. The search for Tolbert is ongoing.
