A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on West Lone Mountain Road on Monday. This incident marks the 50th traffic-related death in Las Vegas under the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department this year.
A fatal accident occurred at approximately 4:13 PM when a 2023 Harley Davidson Road Glide, traveling westbound, collided with a 2006 Toyota Corolla that suddenly pulled out from a private drive. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the bike. Despite efforts to save him, the motorcyclist later succumbed to his injuries at UMC Trauma. Authorities are investigating the incident, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Edward Dukes, 28, of Las Vegas, was arrested on DUI-related charges after a collision with a 43-year-old male motorcyclist, also from Las Vegas, who has not been named pending family notification. Dukes showed signs of impairment at the scene and reported injuries. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section is continuing the investigation into the incident.
