A 17-year-old boy has succumbed to his injuries following a head-on collision on the east side of Las Vegas earlier last month. The crash, which occurred early in the morning on March 17 at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Pacific Summit Street, involved a Toyota Camry and a Volkswagen Tiguan, as reported by 8 News Now. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the teen's death, marking it as the 47th traffic-related fatality within their jurisdiction this year.

According to FOX5 Vegas, the driver of the Toyota, a 20-year-old male, seemingly lost control of the vehicle, veering into the opposing traffic lane and colliding with the Volkswagen. The impact of the crash sent all individuals involved to a nearby hospital, with the Toyota's driver and the 17-year-old passenger initially listed in critical condition, and two others in the Car, aged 15 and 18, sustaining serious and minor injuries respectively.

All occupants of the Camry and the sole occupant of the Tiguan, a 40-year-old man, sustained various degrees of injury as a result of the crash. The 40-year-old man's condition was reported as serious. The teenage boy, who had been in critical condition since the accident, passed away a week later on March 23 at Sunrise Hospital, according to authorities.

"His death marks the 47th traffic related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025," stated the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Investigations into the collision are ongoing by the department's Collision Investigation section, as per FOX5 Vegas.
