The Memphis Police Department has made an arrest following a shooting on I-40 West near Summer Avenue that occurred last month. Officers responded to the scene and found two individuals critically injured: one inside a Chevrolet Malibu and another near a stolen Nissan Rogue, which had also been struck by gunfire. Both were taken to Regional One Hospital.
According to the Memphis Police Department's Facebook post, investigators determined that the Nissan Rogue had been stolen between midnight and 2:00 a.m. from Mill Stream Drive. Jeremy Moore was identified as the driver of the stolen vehicle and is accused of carrying out the shooting. Moore is the boyfriend of Amber Woods, the vehicle’s owner. Woods, 34, was charged with False Reporting and Tampering with or Fabricating Evidence.
On Tuesday, a warrant was issued for Jeremy Moore, 36, charging him with Attempted First-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony. He was arrested the next day by the Violent Crimes Unit and Fugitive Team in the 7000 block of Naples Drive.
