A man was critically injured in a drive-by shooting at a Circle K gas station on Highland Street in East Memphis. The Memphis Police Department responded to the incident near Highland Street on Saturday night at approximately 10:20 p.m., according to FOX13 Memphis.
Witness accounts and police statements outline how the victim was attacked while putting gas in his Infiniti. A black 2014 Corvette, reported stolen, was seen speeding away from the scene and was alleged to have also been accompanied by a black Toyota sedan, as per WREG.
"The suspect fired about two shots at the victim as he was pumping gas," stated the police to Action News 5. The suspect vehicle continued to drive south on Highland Street post-shooting. "The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition." Surveillance video corroborated witness accounts, capturing the harrowing moment the man was shot near his vehicle.
No information was available Sunday about the victim’s condition or any arrests, as reported by WREG.
