
A shooting at Cesar Chavez Park in south Phoenix has left a man wounded with life-threatening injuries, according to local authorities. The incident took place around 8 p.m. near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. Upon arrival at the scene, Phoenix Police officers found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
"When the officers arrived, they located an adult male with at least one gunshot wound," Phoenix Police Sgt. Rob Scherer told FOX 10 Phoenix. Following the discovery, the man was quickly transported to a nearby hospital with injuries considered to be life-threatening. The shooting, amidst the park's usual evening quiet, has since ruptured the community's sense of safety.
As of now, the identity of the injured man has not been disclosed, and the Phoenix Police Department has not released any details concerning a potential suspect or the circumstances that led up to this violent act. The investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing, with investigators piecing together the events of that evening.
