An early morning shooting in Atlanta has left a 31-year-old man wounded, adding to a concerning trend of gun-related incidents in the city.
According to a news release by the Atlanta Police Department, officers from Zone 2 were called to the scene near Lindburgh Dr. NE and Garson Dr. NE after receiving reports of gunfire yesterday, at around 4:30 a.m. The victim, discovered with a gunshot wound, was reported to be alert and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Initial findings by the investigators suggest that the victim, whose identity has not been released, may have been an unintended casualty of an argument that turned violent. With the verbal dispute escalating to physical violence, a shot rang out at 2399 Parkland Dr. NE, eventually finding its mark on the bystander. The police have yet to confirm the details of the confrontation or publicly identify any suspects involved in the shooting.
