
Atlanta's iconic Rainbow Crosswalks in Midtown became the scene of a shooting last evening as a 39-year-old man was injured by gunfire, investigations by local authorities are underway. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident, which occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue NE, prompted a quick response from police who found the victim with at least one gunshot wound.
Atlanta Police Department's Aggravated Assault Unit is piecing together the events leading up to the shooting, the victim, remaining unnamed at present was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries and while the police continue their hunt for answers and potentially suspects, there's been no immediate information released regarding the circumstances that triggered the violence in the heart of the city's LGBTQ+ district.
In a report by Atlanta News First, the victim was described as alert, conscious, and breathing when officers arrived on the scene at 230 10th Street NE police are urging anyone with possible insights or evidence to emerge.
