Maple Grove residents should brace themselves for minor disruptions as CenterPoint Energy embarks on a mission to ensure the city's natural gas infrastructure is both safe and reliable. According to a bulletin from the energy company, construction crews are set to install modern natural gas mains this week, starting at Berkshire Lane North, near 69 Avenue North, and then moving south towards 67 Avenue North.
For those living in the bustling north end of the city, street parking will be somewhat of a headache within the work zones, and pedestrians will find one sidewalk closed for the time being. CenterPoint has given assurances that they'll keep the inconvenience to a minimum, coordinating with residents to maintain access to their homes. "Our crews will work with residents to maintain access to their homes throughout the project," a statement from CenterPoint Energy reads. Motorists zipping around the area are urged to take a chill pill and watch out for the safety of those hard at work.
In a bid to show they're not all about the grind, CenterPoint expressed its gratitude for the community's patience as it overhauls the ageing infrastructure: "Thank you for your patience and understanding as we replace our infrastructure! We value the privilege of having you as a customer," the energy company said in an uplifting note to its customer base.
