The City of Marietta's Public Works Department has successfully recertified its Local Administered Project Certification with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). This certification allows Marietta to manage its own transportation projects in compliance with state and federal regulations for the next five years, as per the City of Marietta press release.
The recertification enables the city to apply the GDOT Local Administered Project Manual, ensuring adherence to regulations, performance monitoring, and record-keeping for transportation initiatives. This certification is essential for Marietta to remain eligible for federal and state transportation funds.
Mark Rice, the Public Works Director, emphasized the department's commitment to effective project management, noting that the recertification strengthens the city's ability to improve local infrastructure.
