Residents of Tulsa, circle your calendars: Mayor Monroe Nichols is making rounds across the city for a firsthand dialogue with constituents. Announced via the official City of Tulsa website, the Mayor's Community Conversations series promises a blend of updates from city leaders alongside a unique platform for residents to voice their concerns and ideas directly to their elected officials.
"Connecting with Tulsans is a priority for all of us at the City as we work to break down barriers and ensure that everyone feels like they have a voice at the table," said Mayor Nichols, as the concerns of residents at these events will be the primary focus, as mentioned by the City of Tulsa. Spread throughout April and May, the series will touch down in five regions of Tulsa—North, South, East, West, and Midtown—offering open access to discussions with city officials, including Mayor Nichols and City Council members.
The City of Tulsa's announcement details that the Community Conversations will take place between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., touring different venues across the town on designated dates throughout April 22 and May 19. Kicking off in South Tulsa at Hardesty Regional Library's Frossard Auditorium on April 22, the series will proceed to the East, West, and Midtown before wrapping up in North Tulsa at the Tulsa Educare at Hawthorne on May 19.
Each meeting will commence with updates given by the Mayor, City Council members, and the City Auditor. After these briefings, community members will have the chance to engage in targeted conversations at different stations with various City officials. Attendees are encouraged by City officials to actively engage with leaders and department heads, fostering a collaborative environment to address local issues.
Furthermore, the city is making efforts to be inclusive to all residents with language translation assistance available upon request. While the meetings welcome all residents, the city suggests attending the session closest to one's residence for convenience and to ensure local concerns are aptly raised and attended to.
