On Wednesday afternoon, officers responded to a reported stabbing on the 5200 block of Collingwood Road in Memphis. According to a social media post from the Memphis Police Department, officers arrived at approximately 2:18 p.m. and found a male victim with critical injuries. The individual was transported to Regional One Health, where he was later pronounced dead. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The investigation that followed quickly identified the alleged perpetrator as 32-year-old Maurice Pian, Jr., who has been charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the death of his father, Maurice Pian, Sr. Maurice Pian, Jr. was arrested and is now facing legal proceedings related to the incident.
Yesterday, the Memphis Police Department announcement stated, "Maurice Pian, Jr., 32, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder."
