The City of Memphis has adjusted its waste collection services in observance of the Good Friday holiday. There will be no trash collection next Friday, April 18, as all City government offices, including those handling solid waste management, will be closed in recognition of the holiday.
Residents who typically receive City of Memphis Solid Waste Management services on Fridays are advised to place their carts at the curb one day earlier, next Thursday, April 17, to ensure timely collection. The City of Memphis instructs residents to "present their carts on Thursday, April 17th, for collection."
It is important to note that customers serviced by Team Waste will not be affected by the holiday schedule and will continue to receive waste collection on their regular pickup days during the week of April 13.
To support residents during this schedule change, the City encourages using the Memphis Curbside Collection app, available for download on both Apple and Google platforms. This app provides up-to-date information on collection schedules, notifications, and service alerts—helping residents stay informed and avoid missed pickups.
Additionally, residents should know that services for excess trash and yard waste will be limited during the holiday week. As always, the City reminds all residents to have their carts placed at the curb no later than 7:00 AM on their designated collection day.
