Middletown residents are being put on high alert as a spate of car thefts sweeps through their quiet streets. The Middletown Division of Police took to social media to warn locals about the recent uptick in automotive theft, explicitly targeting the communities in the east end. "Just overnight we’ve had a total of 6 cars either stolen and/or attempted," the post outlined, urging community vigilance.
According to the official communication, these incidents took place predominantly between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., with their geographic focus centered on the Sawyer Mill Subdivision and Wicklow Drive area. The police have provided images of a white SUV and one of the suspects, however, the agility of these criminals suggests they might switch vehicles to evade capture to this, residents are encouraged to comb through their camera footage from the previous nights and report any sightings that could lead to identification.
In response to this wave of criminal activity, the Middletown Division of Police is not only asking for added community surveillance but also recommends preventative measures. They insist that residents double-check that their cars are locked, personal items are removed, and absolutely no valuables or even the slightest temptations—like charging cords or spare change—remain visible to passersby.
