Officers from the Milford Police Department, enforcing a felony warrant, arrested Caua Da Rocha Rosado, a 20-year-old resident of Milford, after a stand-off this morning. The situation unfolded on North Bow Street when Homeland Security Investigations notified local detectives of their attempt to execute an ICE warrant. Milford Police's official Facebook page reports that Da Rocha Rosado was in verbal contact with agents but did not comply with their request to open the door.
The stand-off, which began around 11:40 AM, ended with police action shortly after. A query revealed that Da Rocha Rosado had an outstanding felony probation warrant from Milford District Court for charges that included Strangulation and Domestic A&B, prompting the forced entry at 11:50 AM. Utilizing a department issued battering ram, officers were able to apprehend Da Rocha Rosado, placing him under arrest with a brief struggle that ensued.
Details surrounding the charges against Da Rocha Rosado are limited, but the severity of offenses such as strangulation and domestic assault and battery underscores a case unfortunately marking another instance of domestic-related violence in the Milford community. The announcement of the arrest reiterated the principle that suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
