In recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunications Week, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office took to social media to extend its gratitude to the unsung heroes working behind the scenes—the dedicated 911 call-takers and dispatchers. The tribute, peppered with a touch of whimsy, highlighted a special visit from Comfort Dog Burton and Deputy Oman, showcasing the lighter side of these critical responders.
During what was dubbed Western-wear Day on Wednesday, Burton, adorned in a pint-sized cowboy hat, brought a moment of levity to the dispatch center. While their job starts from the early morning hours, keeping an eye on the community's safety, the visit was captured in a Facebook post, which then collected appreciative comments and shares from the community.
