Archery enthusiasts in Ohio now have a new spot to let arrows fly with the opening of a brand new archery range at Rocky Fork State Park. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife proudly unveiled this addition to the park located in Highland County, at 9800 N. Shore Drive, Hillsboro, 45133, and boasts an array of lanes for different skill levels.
Open seven days a week from dawn to dusk, the range features shooting lanes at 10-, 20-, 30-, 40-, and 50-yard intervals. Having stationary targets, they cater to novices and seasoned archers alike, according to the official ODNR announcement. An added highlight is an archery curtain, which will be involved in youth programs, but cannot shy away from the challenge it poses to young learners.
Accessibility was a top priority in the design of the range, as evidenced by the inclusion of static targets that are mobility accessible and compliant with ADA standards. This commitment allows for an inclusive environment where enthusiasts with disabilities can participate in the sport without barriers.
