The New Orleans Police Department has issued a public call for assistance in locating a suspect linked to the illegal possession of stolen property. According to an official NOPD News release, Maya Alexis Ducros, a Black female born on December 8, 1999, is wanted in connection with the crime.
Investigators have provided details of the incident, which unfolded around 2:00 a.m. on March 27. A victim reported their cellular phone stolen in a pickpocketing incident near Bourbon and Saint Ann Streets, a notorious spot for such petty crimes. Ducros allegedly sold the stolen phone on the same day it was taken. The details of this transaction, or how investigators came to believe Ducros was the seller, have not been disclosed.
The NOPD is asking for the public’s help in finding Ducros. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
