
The New Orleans Police Department is actively seeking public assistance in their search for a suspect involved in a recent auto burglary—the individual identified as Esther Wells, a Black female born on July 23, 1984, is under investigation for unlawful possession of goods presumed to have been stolen during the incident.
As reported by the NOPD News, the burglary occurred in the early hours of April 9, 2025, within the vicinity of the 300 block of South Telemachus Street, where a vehicle was unauthorizedly entered and various identifiable items were lifted. These items were later pawned by Wells at a local shop around 2:30 p.m. on the same day.
The pawned possessions were eventually recognized as belonging to the victim of the vehicle burglary prompting law enforcement to secure a warrant for Wells’ arrest. Police are reaching out to residents for any information on Wells’ whereabouts and are urging anyone with knowledge pertinent to the case to step forward.
