Aside from his impressive stats, Skattebo's efforts were particularly noted during the College Football Playoff quarterfinal, where the athlete racked up 143 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, 99 receiving yards, and a 42-yard touchdown pass in ASU's double-overtime Peach Bowl loss to Texas. These feats were pivotal in almost toppling a defense heavy with NFL prospects—a fact that didn't go unnoticed by the Giants' scouting department.
Joining the Giants, Skattebo aims to carry his collegiate success into the professional arena, citing his intent to bring "a hard runner" to the team, someone who will "score a lot of touchdowns" and "put us in the right positions to win," according to Arizona Sports.
