Norman's Comprehensive Plan, approved by the Steering Committee last month, is moving into the next phase with public meetings and presentations. These sessions will allow residents to learn about the planned infrastructure developments and provide feedback, according to the City of Norman.
The upcoming meetings are as follows: The Planning Commission will hold a special meeting on April 9, for Land Use Plan scenario training, followed by a City Council Conference Meeting on April 22. Additional meetings include the Planning Commission on May 8, the City Council meeting on June 10, and another City Council meeting on June 24. Agendas for these meetings will be available on the City of Norman's website.
The planning process in Norman, starting in Fall 2023, involved extensive community engagement. This included city-wide mailings, contact points via web, phone, and email, and numerous open houses, workshops, and pop-up events. Residents took part in forty-five listening sessions and eighteen pop-up events, with media coverage spreading information throughout the OKC metro, as stated by the City of Norman.
