The speed and diligence of the Oakland Police Department (OPD) evidenced itself through the arrest of a male juvenile shortly after an armed robbery and a shooting that took place on Cortereal Avenue yesterday. Not more than a day after the incident, the suspect was apprehended around 6:00 p.m., as was shared in an official notice from the Oakland Police Department. Officers armed with a search warrant also seized multiple firearms during their investigation.
Violence ruptured at the 1900 block of Cortereal Avenue. Having responded to the scene to investigate the shooting reports, officers found an individual who had been shot. Paramedics provided aid and transported the victim to a local hospital and remained in critical, yet stable, condition. According to the Oakland Police Department, the victim was confronted and subsequently shot by an assailant demanding their belongings.
