The Town of Oakland is looking for new proposals from companies specializing in Municipal Solid Waste Management, with a particular focus on handling residential and municipal facility waste, including the usual refuse and yard debris. This was made clear in a recent announcement on the Town of Oakland's official website.
Interested contractors should take note: the town expects to receive no fewer than three bound copies of a typed proposal, these must come complete with a Rate Schedule, and they have to be bundled up in a sealed envelope that's clearly labeled "Residential and Municipal Solid Waste Services Sealed Bid Enclosed". Moreover, these packages must be delivered to the Town of Oakland, Town Recorder located at 170 Doss Circle, P.O. Box 56 Oakland TN, 38060 by no later than 2:00 PM on June 9, the proposals must be handled with care and promptness, considering they will be reviewed and a bid tab will be presented at the next scheduled meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
The Town of Oakland's announcement also stated that the town reserves the right "to request such information or materials as it may deem appropriate and necessary" to evaluate each proposer's qualifications properly, and those submitting bids should be prepared for a thorough vetting process.
