Early Friday, Ogden police officers fatally shot a man identified as a "known white supremacist gang member" during a coordinated effort to apprehend a suspect wanted for an aggravated robbery. The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. at Motel 6 located on 1206 W. 21st Street, as reported by KSL.com. Police Chief Jake Sube described the endeavor, stating that the robbery, which took place three days prior, involved the suspect allegedly robbing another individual at gunpoint.
In a violent exchange, one officer sustained a gunshot wound to the lower leg but is expected to make a full recovery after being treated at a local hospital. "One gang task force officer sustained a gunshot wound to the lower leg during the incident," Sube said. "While the injury is significant, thankfully it is non-life-threatening and the officer has been released from the hospital," as detailed by KSLTV.
