Mayor David Holt highlighted the significance of the resolution, commenting, "This was our first opportunity as a City Council to state our official support for staging two sports during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics." He expressed gratitude for the council's shared vision in the path to the Games. Their obligations outlined in the resolution are considerable – Oklahoma City will handle venue provisions, maintenance and upgrades, city services, as well financial assurances amounting to a $34.5 million guarantee, as per the City of Oklahoma City.
