A serious collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle on southbound Highway 101 near Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill has left one person critically injured and another with minor injuries. The crash, which occurred yesterday, prompted a swift response from local emergency services and led to the temporary shutdown of the highway.

According to the Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit's social media post, the incident was initially reported at SB Hwy 101 X Dunne Ave. It was later updated to the correct location at Hwy 101 X Tennant Avenue. The units that responded included B57, E58, and E67, who worked alongside Santa Clara County Emergency Medical Services and CHP - Hollister-Gilroy. They quickly worked to safely shut down the roadway to allow for the landing of Calstar2, an air ambulance service, which was necessary to transport the critically injured patient to receive immediate care swiftly.

The second victim, sustaining minor injuries, was taken by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. "Incidents like these take a significant amount of coordination, communication, and a high level of care; all of which was displayed by every first responder present and on the radio," said the Cal Fire Santa Clara Unit in their update on the incident.
