
An Orlando man has been arrested after fatal gunfire erupted outside the c yesterday morning. Keishawn A. Richards is facing manslaughter with a weapon charge following the death of 46-year-old Joseph U. Phillips, according to a report from WESH. Authorities confirmed that Richards was taken into custody at his residence by the SWAT team.
The incident, around 2 a.m. near West Colonial Drive near Texas Avenue, began as a disagreement in a parking lot. WFTV reported that the victim was stepping outside the D'Junction Island Bar and Restaurant when he was caught in a shooting directed at another individual involved in the confrontation. The Orlando Fire Department pronounced Philips dead at the scene.
As the investigation continued, the Orlando Police Department confirmed no additional suspects were being sought. Richards, 42, is expected to appear in court to face the charges against him. Details of the altercation that led to the tragic outcome are still being investigated, but what's known is that the bullet that ended Phillip’s life was not intended for him, according to details released by ClickOrlando.
