Commuters traveling along eastbound I-10 in Orleans Parish may want to reconsider their routes over the next several days. Starting tomorrow at 9:30 p.m. and continuing through next Thursday at 6:30 a.m., a section of this major roadway will undergo roadwork, according to the Department of Transportation and Development.
Guardrail repairs will result in a partial closure of the right lane, from the I-610 junction to the US 90 (Chef Menteur Highway) intersection. Weather permitting, the recurring right lane closure will take effect tomorrow night and Thursday, from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The work will continue intermittently from Sunday night through Wednesday night, during the same hours, weather permitting. Motorists should expect delays and plan their trips accordingly. More details on these closures are available here.
Additionally, the I-10 East entrance ramp at Louisa will experience intermittent closures during the same dates and times as the right lane blockages. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and allow for extra travel time during this period.
