Residents of Phoenix looking to promote road safety have a new tool at their disposal—the Vision Zero Yard Sign Program. Launched by the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department, the program is distributing yard signs designed to catch the eyes, and hopefully the minds, of drivers. These signs aim to encourage safer driving behaviors in neighborhoods and commercial areas.

Interested local residents and business owners can get these signs for free, in both English and Spanish, offering messages to remind motorists to slow down and be aware of pedestrians and cyclists. The initiative, backed by the Phoenix City Council through funding, comes as part of the wider Road Safety Action Plan. The bright, bold colors of the signs are not just there for decoration, they're part of a thought-out effort to visually communicate the importance of vigilance on the streets.

"We are happy to provide this service to the community, as we continue to explore different ways to engage Phoenix residents and help support safe driving throughout neighborhoods across the city," said Brandy Kelso, Street Transportation Department Interim Director, in a statement released by the City of Phoenix website. The signs are available at multiple community centers, such as Goelet A.C. Beuf, Maryvale, Longview, Pecos, and Cesar Chavez. For those closer to the heart of the city, signs can also be picked up at Phoenix City Hall.
