Visitors and residents in Pigeon Forge should expect continued traffic delays today as the Spring Rod Run event wraps up its weekend schedule. The Pigeon Forge Police Department announced on their official Facebook page that traffic congestion is anticipated on major, secondary, and side roads, as well as sidewalks and parking areas.
The event, centered around the LeConte Center, will draw large crowds of car enthusiasts, leading to slow-moving traffic and increased pedestrian activity. The Old Mill Bridge will be closed, making Old Mill Avenue inaccessible for travel to or from the Parkway.
To help manage traffic, the police shared several safety tips. Drivers are advised to allow extra time, stay alert for pedestrians, keep right when driving slowly, and avoid changing lanes near intersections. Pedestrians should also stay aware of vehicle traffic. For parking, the police urged drivers to use only marked parking spaces to help keep traffic flowing.
