A somber tone has been cast over the city of Pittsburg following a deadly shooting incident that took place last Saturday. According to a social media post from the Pittsburg Police Department, officers were called to the scene at Belle Harbor Circle around 7:18 p.m. after reports of gunfire were made.
Upon arrival, the first responders found two male juveniles with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers quickly proceeded to rapidly administer life-saving medical aid to one of the victims until emergency medical services took over. The juvenile was then rushed to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. A brief distance away, a second juvenile was discovered; unfortunately, he passed away from his injuries at the scene despite the efforts of first responders.
The investigation into this tragic event is being led by detectives who have preliminarily determined that the shooting may have resulted from an earlier physical altercation. The Pittsburg Police Department has highlighted that the investigation is active and ongoing.
