The Plymouth Police Department recently shared a briefing of their weekly activities via a social media post, giving the public a glimpse into the operations of local law enforcement from last Sunday to last Saturday. The department reported a total of 612 incidents over the course of the week, including 17 arrests and 3 criminal complaints that were processed.
In addition to handling a high volume of incidents, the officers of Plymouth Police had to also adequately respond to 26 motor vehicle accidents, showcasing the unceasing demands placed on them to ensure road safety. Traffic management was a significant focus with 54 traffic stops conducted. The week was further marked by 30 house and building alarms, which they promptly addressed, putting into practice their commitment to the safety and security of the community's personal property.
According to the post on the department's Facebook page, disturbances and suspicious activities, numbering at 5 and 33 respectively, were also addressed by the Plymouth Police officers. Their vigilance extended to the wellbeing of citizens, with 57 medical, mental, and wellbeing checks completed, emphasizing the department's holistic approach to community caregiving.
Their report also included some of the less-discussed aspects of law enforcement, such as handling 29 accidental 911 calls—a reminder of the everyday challenges they must skillfully navigate to distinguish actual emergencies from false alarms. The department concluded their update by expressing gratitude for the hard work of their officers and the support from the community, noting, "Thank you to our officers for their dedication and to our community for your support!
