The Walnut Creek Police Department is actively investigating an attempted robbery that occurred yesterday, when two male suspects allegedly assaulted a victim in a bid to claim his personal belongings. According to a social media post from the department, the incident unfolded around 11:45 a.m. on the 3300 block of Arbolado Drive.
The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries during the attempted theft. The assailants now remain at large after quickly departing the scene before law enforcement arrived, despite the prompt response; no weapons were used or brandished during the assault. Descriptions provided to authorities indicate that the suspects are young adults with dark complexions, wearing dark clothing, and were seen leaving in a dark sedan.
Further investigative efforts are underway as Walnut Creek Police Officers and Detectives pursue potential leads to identify, locate, and arrest the individuals responsible for the crime. It has been noted that there was no prior relationship between the suspects and the victim, suggesting a random crime of opportunity rather than a targeted attack.
