Chicago’s beloved fast-food institution, Portillo’s, known for its signature Italian beef sandwiches and Chicago-style hot dogs, is shaking up its classic menu with the launch of a brand-new breakfast lineup. Beginning Tuesday, the popular chain will begin testing morning offerings at five select locations in Chicago and its suburbs, hoping to bring the same bold flavors and comfort food charm to the early hours of the day.

As reported by ABC7 Chicago, the summer trial includes everything from hearty breakfast sandwiches to indulgent new treats like the Portillo’s chocolate cake donut, a clever twist on their famed dessert. The test menu is designed to cater to Portillo’s loyal fan base while attracting a new wave of breakfast-goers.

Among the savory options are a Polish sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, as well as a loaded breakfast scramble that promises to uphold Portillo’s reputation for generous portions. On the sweeter side, fans can look forward to the Portillo’s chocolate cake coffee and the much-anticipated donut collaboration with local favorite Stan’s Donuts. Topped with the chain’s iconic chocolate cake frosting, the donut is poised to become a standout item. To round out the experience, Portillo’s is also teaming up with Metropolis Coffee to serve both classic and specialty brews.

According to CBS Chicago, the breakfast trial will run daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at five locations: the South Loop in Chicago (520 W. Taylor Street), Niles (8832 W. Dempster Street), Shorewood (1155 Brook Forest Avenue), Elmhurst (155 S. Route 83), and Tinley Park (15900 Harlem Avenue).
