A Powder Springs woman, Lashawn Crumble, 32, was arrested and charged with mail theft after a routine traffic stop by Kennesaw Police led to the discovery of dozens of opened and unopened packages in her vehicle. The packages, which were meant for delivery, were confirmed by the delivery company to be intact and in transit before being intercepted by Crumble, according to FOX5 Atlanta.

The stop, which occurred around midnight in late March, initially began when officers smelled marijuana coming from Crumble's car. During the search, they found not only a small amount of drugs but also a large number of stolen packages. Officer David Buchanan spoke with FOX5 Atlanta, noting the breach of trust between consumers and couriers as a result of the theft.

Crumble now faces charges for stealing nearly 50 packages, as confirmed by WSB Radio. Authorities are working to identify the owners of the packages, which were addressed to residents in metro Atlanta. The investigation is ongoing, and Crumble could face additional charges as more leads are pursued.

As the case progresses, Officer Buchanan advised consumers to track their packages and stay updated on delivery statuses.
