
Walnut Creek was the scene of a bank robbery at Chase Bank yesterday, an event that, fortunately, came to a swift conclusion thanks to local law enforcement. The Walnut Creek Police Department received a distress call around 12:30 PM, reporting a bank heist at the Chase Bank located at 1390 S Main St. Police officers were quick on the scene, arriving within minutes to gather essential details from the incident.
According to the social media post made by the Walnut Creek Police Department, the suspect, now identified as Ronald Lane, had slipped a note to a teller, demanding cash. The drama unfolded without the escalation to physical violence, as no weapon was brandished during the crime. Lane then exited, fleeing the scene with the stolen cash in a vehicle.
Officers canvassed the area and spotted the suspected vehicle soon after, making a decisive move on Olympic Blvd. A traffic stop of the car at 1:07 PM led police to confirm the driver as the alleged bank robber. Ronald Lane was taken into custody, and the stolen money was secured from the car. Subsequently, Lane was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility, and the money was returned.
