For the commuters of Destrehan, the start of this week brings with it a handful of disruptions to their daily travels. The announcement made by St. Charles Parish officials warns of local and state road closures that will affect traffic from March 31 through to April 4. The road construction on Ormond Center Court will block passage from 150 Ormond Center Court (Rotolo's Pizza) to 3001 Ormond Blvd (Buddy's Frostop).
An alternate route has been set up to reroute vehicle traffic around the affected area. While the local closure might be a minor inconvenience, drivers are being advised to plan ahead for the delays or find other alternate routes. According to the St. Charles Parish website, the official detour paths will be clearly marked to assist travelers during this period.
At the state level, significant disruptions are expected due to roadwork along LA 633 (Magnolia Ridge Rd). The project began early yesterday, and is expected to continue until the evening of April 4, weather permitting. The roadwork involves alternating lane closures, intermittently affecting both northbound and southbound traffic.
The lanes in question stretch from US 90 to Maple St, with the roadwork consisting primarily of asphalt patching operations. St. Charles Parish advises that "This is an Alternating lane closure," and the partial lane closures will recur daily from 6 AM to 9 PM during this five-day period. Motorists are encouraged to stay informed about real-time traffic updates to avoid getting caught in potential backups and delays.
