
A 49-year-old man was critically injured yesterday early morning in a hit-and-run incident in downtown Seattle. The collision occurred around 2:15 a.m. near Occidental Square in the 200 block of 1st Avenue South, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD) Blotter.
Police found the man lying in the street with severe head injuries. Officers provided aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the man was riding a scooter on 1st Avenue South when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver did not stop or call 911 and left the scene. Seattle police are asking anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle involved to contact the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad at 206-684-8923 or call 911.
